The Table-9.jpg

Rev. Dawn Bennett, Pastor Developer. My pronouns are She/Her

People ask me what I do. I say, “I create space for hard conversations.” That’s how I see it. I’m part holy and part #HolyHellion. I love Jesus. And I love you! Listen Beloved, God loves you! As you are, who you are and where you are in your faith walk. After all, God made you — Jeremiah 1:5 says, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.” We all have stuff, bring it along and let’s see what becomes of it. We all have doubts, bring them too.

Did you know you’re created and holy, beautiful and worthy? Did you know it’s not what you do but who you are that makes you SO valuable? You are worthy and whole JUST AS YOU ARE (today and every day up till today), I’d love to get together and chat with you. Let’s connect for a beverage.

I came to Nashville in the 90’s to raise my family. After a few decades of lay ministry and a whole ‘lotta baggage from “traditional church,” I went in search of a more holistic and realistic way to experience “God.” Now, at The Table I hope to share it with you.

Education / training / praxis: Vanderbilt Divinity School (MDiv); Luther Seminary (MACM); NCRC (TN Rule 31 Family/Civil Mediator); The Circle Center (Circle Dialogue Facilitator); Light Univ (Life Coach); Liberty Univ (BS Psychology)(It’s problematic, like, I know!). I am ordained to the Ministry of Word & Sacrament in the (ELCA) Lutheran Church and serve under Bishop Kevin Strickland.

AND…VIP (very important part): I answer to Pastor, Dawn, Pastor Dawn, Reverend Bennett and most recently, PD.

I do NOT answer to hey, sweetie, missy, sweet ‘thang or honey. You’ll be waiting forever -- Please and thank you.

I grew up on an island, so you’ll always find me outside. My kids are grown so I keep home with my fish, Mo, Larry and Curly. And because of the nature of my work….I always read the fine print but I rarely read the comments section.
